Music is a wonderful form of art created and nourished by humanity. Music culture has provided countless emotions for people’s hearts. Cape Town Big Band Academy NPO conveys the joy of music to as many people as possible beyond the boundaries and languages, and helps cultivate a rich sensitivity so that emotions can be freely expressed through music. In so doing, we hope to contribute to creating a healthy society.

About Cape Town Big Band Academy

Cape Town Big Band Academy was registered as a NPC on the 23 November 2022. On 09 March 2023, it changed to as a Non Profitable Organization with approval from the Department of Social Development. Since its establishment, the purpose of this organization has been “to explore and identify musicians that plays brass and woodwind instruments in underprivileged communities not able to read music”. Our aim is to teach them the theoretical side of the music in order for them to have a better understanding of how to read and play music on a professional level. This project does not exclude children that never has touch an instrument. Cape Town Big Academy will phase out it teaching and learning to cover beginner, intermediate and professional level. Our targeted groups ranges from toddlers, young children,youths and adults, to pursue the popularization of music and that we strive to improve musical culture in Cape Town and other countries.
